Two things that most governments don’t get, sarcasm and how the internet works. If you asked me what countries routinely monitor Facebook and Twitter, I would have replied repressive and corrupt governments such as China or Belarus. But recent events reveal that the United States and other first world nations are actively monitoring for dissident not social networking sites.

The FBI is said to be looking to monitor all public information posted on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The FBI put out a request for proposal on a social networking and monitoring application. You have the right to ignore a friend request from the FBI.

Maybe the FBI is lagging behind social media compared to other agencies because already shortly after news broke out about the deportation of two British tourists after they tweeted the following: Free this week, for quick gossip/prep before I go and destroy America?

Tweeting that you going to do anything not nice to America will get you deported and barred from entering the country again. I don’t doubt that in the future, as part of the citizen naturalization process, a social media background check will be conducted before you can be made a citizen.

South Korea has detained a South Korean citizen for posting sarcastic comments and images on Twitter about North Korea and maybe charged for retweeting North Korean propaganda under South Korea’s National Security Law. So tweeting, retweeting, and following a North Korean organization is a national security violation in South Korea!?

I’m sure the folks at Goldman Sachs are thankful this twitter account doesn’t post things heard in Goldman Sachs bathrooms.

Instead of paying a graphic artist or illustrator a decent wage for designing the art work for the President’s plan to create jobs, the Obama campaign crowd sourced the project to volunteers. It’s ironic, that President Obama’s re-election campaign is asking people to do a job, design a jobs poster, for free which will be used to encourage people to create jobs! They could have created a job by giving the job as a paying gig to a freelance artist or illustrator.

There are a number of sites such as Wikipedia and the Huffington Post that rely on the work and effort contributed for free by its members. In the case of the Huffignton Post, a large number of users contributed a large percent of the content on the site and when the Huffignton Post was sold to AOL they didn’t share in the sale, because those individuals that had contributed their content waived all rights to the content. The Huffignton Post was sold to AOL for over $300 million off the backs of volunteers.

There are so many laws on the book that at any given moment you are breaking one without even realizing it. They are designed to make everyone a criminal, so that the police can arrest you for any cause. Do you know how many arrests have been made on because of a broken tail light? The broken tail light is the number one reason police use to pull someone over, and because they pull you over, they have to inspect and search you vehicle, and if they find some other infraction on you they can make a charges stick because the broken tail light gave the police probably cause to stop you to begin with.

When there are so many laws in the book, the police can use any one of them as tools not for serving the people but by selectively using them to control the people. This is similar to the how public institutions used to discriminate, they set up arbitrary admissions tests that would just happen to be that much more difficult for “undesirables.”

Here is commentary on admissions question that were used on Jewish applications. As described by the comments, the problem set given Jewish applicants were just that more difficult to answer and any mistaken would disqualify you. This is what happens when you have complex set of rules, laws, or ordinances. When you have a complex body of laws, the population may at time be trespassing any one of those laws but since they are enforced selectively.

Do you really believe, even today, that all laws are enforced equally? I’ve never seen a jay walking ticket be given out in an affluent neighborhood, even though kids take up a whole block to toss the ball around.

The protesters themselves are occupied, they are sounded by agent provocateurs, enforcement officers from several dozens of local, state, and federal agencies, they’ve been infiltrated by plain clothes police and operatives, they are arrested at the whims of police, beat women down and arrest them for resisting arrest, run over legal observers, they are entrapped by the hundreds into walking in the middle of a bridge only to be arrested by walking on the bridge.

Celebrities often change their name to something more commercial. Jon Stewart was actually born Jonathan Stuart Leibowitz. Some performer go with a nickname or alias that brings in some street cred, such as 50 cents is a better rap name that Curtis Jackson and Prince changed his name to a unpronounceable symbol. Where performers and people are name brands, changing your name can have a similar affect that changing the name of a stadium does. It provides an opportunity to start fresh with a new image.

In the sports, there have name a few memorable name changes. Cassius Clay changed his name to Muhammad Ali after converting to Islam. Most recently, Chad Johnson changed his name to Chad Ochocinco. Now, it’s been reported that Ron Artest is considering changing his name to Metta World Peace. According to Wikipedia, Metta means loving-kindness or friendliness.

It’s only a matter a time when a top sports figure changing his name to a brand. Can you imagine if Michael Jordan changed to Swoosh Jordan.

Now, the best name change in sports was of basketball player Lloyd Bernard Free who changed his name to World B. Free.

Recent reports are emerging about the latest atrocity committed by the TSA. TSA agents had a 95 year-old wheel chair bound woman suffering from late-stage leukemia to remove her adult diaper before she could be screen. Because, you never know, your 95 year-old grandma could be a Al Queda sleeper cell agent. In addition to having the elderly strip, the TSA agents have frisked toddlers. We’ve successfully killed Osama, dumped his body at sea, we’ll soon begin to withdrawal the nearly 100,000 soldiers from Afghanistan, but the TSA will still check your nuts and grab your boobs for your own safety before boarding a flight.

I honestly believe that the TSA would like all Americans to travel in railway cattle freight wagons, much like the victims of the holocaust.

While Obama was delivering his speech at the British Parliament in the United Kingdom, I stumble upon these overly apologetic and hubris tweets by LeVar Burton, better known as the blind guy in Star Trek The Next Generation.

I am SO proud of my President in this moment!!! #statesman #worldleader #blackman

Historic speech before both Houses of Commons in UK… and he’s killin’ it! RT @macguyinnc Could you clarify as to why?

For those who have questioned my comment… I am proud not only because Obama is a black man, but because I am too!!!

As a Buddhist and a scholar, and I know that such hubris, attachment, and blind allegiance to someone based on color, religion, ethnicity has been at the heart of genocide, war, and discrimination. My natural response to blind partisanship is satire and so I tweeted the following.

@levarburton I thought you were proud because you are Obama’s mom.

@levarburton are you also proud of African despots, dictators, and tyrants?

@levarburton I am proud not only because Obama is a rich elitist working for corporate America, but because I am too!!!

Now interestingly enough, the comments made by LeVar Burton came less than a week of an interview on 60 Minutes with Al Sharpton who said outright that he and his National Action Network are not critical of President Obama, as he has been with ever other president, because of color of the President.

I don’t judge the President by the color of his skin but by whether or not he has keep his campaign promises. President Obama promised to get our troops out of Iraq, to close down Gitmo, and fix the broken economy and yet we still have troops in Iraq, prisoners in Gitmo, and Goldman Sachs running Wall Street.

Twitter has brought the nuttiness out of the woodwork from celebrities. Part of the problem is that celebrities are not authentic when using Twitter, or they are just crazy. People know when a celebrity is not one hundred or real, even in a 140 character tweet. For example, if you rap about drug dealing but tweet about vitamin water it is clear that you ain’t a thug but a corporate shill. Case in point is Russell Simmons, the Ghetto Guru. Russell Simmons, or @UncleRUSH on Twitter, co-founded DefJam Records, is said to be the riches man in Hip-Hop, was peripheral to epic rap battles and all he tweets about is a mix of quotes from the Bhagavad Gita and self help mumbo jumbo. Without a doubt what he has done in the with Def Jam and Phat Farm is inspirational, but his tweets are not inspirational if they make him sound like a fake ass Ghetto Guru. To be honest, most of his audience and followers (except his eleet friends) don’t know what the hell the Bhagavad Gita is.

When people from the hood say to you “don’t ever change” this is what they mean, don’t be a Rusell Simmons.

Here are a few select tweets from the @UncleRUSH twitter account as of May 19.

“There is no joy in small thinking.” Maharishi

Don’t be small be expansive, Give for the sake of giving..

“Operate from abundance”Neediness pushes away your blessings and is the cause of all suffering

You get what u give .. But u don’t have to reap where u sew.

“You have contoll over the action alone, but never the fruit”. Krishna Bhagavad-Gita

Consistent Good karmic work, daily yoga and daily meditation are some good suggestions given from the Masters

Inner peace does not come as a whim.. Just as one push will not create muscles.

Today practice loving everyone and everything (enemies&struggle included) but hang w/people and in places that uplift u

Another day… Another chance to make things right

Things turn out the best for those who do the best with how things turn out..

For over two days, the top news item from network news to algorithm powered Google News has been, wait for it, Osama’s porn stash. I can’t believe that elite secret US commandos kill the world’s most wanted criminal, reportedly kill him unarmed and possibly by shooting him from behind the head, dump his body in the ocean probably with a set of cement shoes, captured a ‘treasure trove’ of material such as notebooks and hard drives, and all that is released by the government is that Osama had some secret porn stash. Osama is was a grown man who took credit for the deaths of thousands, I honestly don’t care about the guys sexual fantasies.

Here is a list of disinformation and psyops from the CIA I don’t care to see in my morning news about Osama bin Laden.

That Osama eat kittens for breakfast.

That Osama didn’t pay taxes.

That Osama didn’t have Wifi.

That Osama didn’t live It’s a Wonderful Life.

That Osama put out a fatwa on Lady Gaga.

That Osama wants people to “leave Britney alone.”

That Osama hates the Teletubies.

That Osama is a Lakers fan.
