He was the first person to use the social networking site Twitter from space. One short message for man, one tweet for mankind. His tweet from outer spaces reads as follows.

From orbit: Launch was awesome!! I am feeling great, working hard, & enjoying the magnificent views, the adventure of a lifetime has begun!

As of date, Astronaut Mike Massimino has over 1.3 million followers. NASA’s official verified account lists 19 astronauts on Twitter, including astronaut Jose Hernandez. Astronaut Jose Hernandez was the first person to tweet from space in English and Spanish. As a Mexican-American, Joe Hernandez, tweets in both English and Spanish about his training and experience. Here is his first tweet from space.

Settling in and realizing my dream… Micro G is great. Finished setting up the computers and ready for bed! Don’t need pillow!

A minute later, he tweeted in Spanish.

Espero la cosecha de mi sueno sirva como inspiracion a todos! Acabo de configurar las computadoras. Buenas noches!

Sometimes I see some thoughtlessness on behalf parents, it seems that sometimes the parents have just given up on parenting. I often see kids running up and down and into people at department stores. But the worst parenting behavior is that one when the parent does not realize the potential hazard of the situation. Here is my number one common sense parenting advice. Never play football with your kid in the street near a blind turn, especially in what is considered a quite street. If you think the street is quite, so will some crazy teenager driving taking that turn at 45 mph while sexting on his phone.

It took me about a day an half to get on Google Buzz after it was announced. The first thing I noticed was that I was already following a half dozen accounts and worst off that some people where following who I had only emailed but a few times. Google Buzz’s first failure was that it auto-followed certain contacts in your address book based on some ‘algorithm.’ The second mistake in Google Buzz was that it pushes you to make your profile public, even an experienced social media maven can inadvertently make their profile page public. A third oversight in Google Buzz is that your profile name is your email address. The fourth mistake is you can see, by default, the people that other people are followings and their followers. There are many more mistakes and hiccups, like blocking not working correctly, and these have been covered many times over. The problems I have listed here have a perfect privacy shit storm. The Eric Schmidt, CEO of “do no evil” Google, has defended Buzz and their lack of privacy awareness as a end user confusion. So maybe this is the perfect Schmidt storm as I don’t think he is using Google Buzz.

It was reported that the Google boss said the following:

I would say that we did not understand how to communicate Google Buzz and its privacy. There was a lot of confusion when it came out… [last] Tuesday, and people thought that somehow we were publishing their email addresses and private information, which was not true.

Eric Schmidt is either a liar or a dummy, pick any two! With the issues outlined above, it is possible to find out peoples email address, and worst, find out people close to however you are virtually stalking, I mean friending. Let’s take a public example, let’s see if we can find Mark Zuckerberg’s close contacts and email address using Google Buzz.

First you will need to log into your GMail account and click into the Buzz inbox. If this is your first time, you will probably already have a few followers. Under the text area to enter your buzz, you will see a link that reads ‘Find people.’ There is a search box where you can find more people to follow. In this box, enter Mark Zuckerberg. Mark of Facebook fame should be one of the first few people that comes up. Originally I was going to do this experiment with Eric Schmidt but I had a tougher time finding his profile. You can follow Mark or view his public profile. Mark is probably busy playing Farm Ville or working on new Twitter features to copy so he probably has not configured the privacy settings of his Google Buzz account.

It might also be worth while to question if this is the real Mark Zuckerberg, we can not be sure, but if you see the people that are following this profile you will see that very connected Silicon Valley technologists are following this person.

Mark Zuckerberg's Google Buzz contacts

In Mark’s public profile you will see that he is currently following 16 people. A quick glance of said followers shows Mark Zuckerberg is following Charles Cheever, Dustin Moskovitz, Adam D’Angelo, Paul Buchheit, amongst others. So now you can do this to each person that Mark follows on Google Buzz, etc. and easily develop a social graph of people Mark Zuckerberg contacts and connects with via email. Looking these folks up, on Google, you will find that they are early Facebook founders and fellow Silicon Valley entrepreneurs.

If you click on his public profile you will see that his Google Profile vanity URL is the following.

http://www.google.com/profiles/mark.zuckerberg#buzz

Notice his user name, mark.zuckerberg. If you append “@gmail.com” to his profile name, you will get Mark Zuckerberg’s GMail address. Feel free to send him a note telling him how much you enjoy getting updates about your friends finding alien cows on Facebook. Mark is a private guy, I mean you can’t just add Mark Zuckerberg as a friend through his Facebook profile page. As the founder and CEO of Facebook, Mark is tech savvy so I can’t imagine him intentionally making his GMail address publicly available.

It is evident, that Eric Schmidt is not aware how easily it is to find private email address of Google Buzz users or he is lying. I think that Google should change their motto from “do no evil” to “it’s okay to do dumb shit with your privacy.” What I can’t believe is that apparently Google Buzz was in use inside of Google and by some of their 20,000++ super genius bar qualified engineers for a year or so and no one caught this.

Mark Zuckerberg's Friends on Google Buzz

I rember reading back in 2007 how the riches men and woman made billions that year. Now it is a different story. It is estimated the Carlos Slim Helu and Warren Buffett both lost $25 billion invidivually, and Bill Gates has lost an additional $18. Last year the world had 1,125 billionaries. Today there are 793 and $1.4 trillion has simply disappeared. Here are some other billion dollar losers: Anil Ambani, Lakshmi Mittal, Kushal Pal Singh, Oleg Deripaska, Mukesh Ambani, and Sheldon Adelson.

There has been a lot of talk and excitement around Twitter recently, it all reach a new high when Oprah Winfrey dedicated a portion on her television program to Twitter. Some stats that followed the airing of the show indicated that as much as 1 million new users signed up to Twitter. Stats that followed after the Oprah Effect died down indicated that as much as 60 percent of new users don’t use the service after a month.
I can attest that this was true for me too! I joined Twitter before they went mainstream, before the most celebrities ever heard of it, and before it was a marketeer next marketing gimmick. What I came to realize is that when you first join a new community, at first you just lurk until you feel comfortable with the acceptable behavior in the community and the functionality of the service. This is definitely true in developing communities before the trolls and marketeers arrive.
The Twitter community has matured to shape features in the site, such as the @username reply mechanism and search friendly #hashtags. And Twitter is still evolving to meet users demands. But what will help you get the most out of Twitter has nothing to do with technology, but finding your tweet voice. Find your tweet voice, tune it, and experiment with it especially since Twitter makes it so easy. Don’t take the ‘What are you doing?’ question asked by Twitter too literal, use it as a suggestion, an ice breaker. Instead ask yourself, how am I going to change my world? What is my value add? Who am I going to connect with today? What matters to me the most?
Once you find your voice, you will need to find people to follow. The trick I like to use is I follow those that people I trust follow. For example, follow the folks that celebrities follow. All the mobile, desktop, and web clients to Twitter make it easy to always stay tune to your followers, use the favorite feature to save tweets that are interesting to you, reply and retweet to tweets add value to the conversation.
The key to twitter is to find followers and find hour voice.

Inauguration

A dream deferred will soon be a dream redeemed.

Anybody getting tomorrow off because of the inauguration? For some people, this is turning out to be a four day weekend.

Watching the inauguration of Barack Obama.

Obama became the president four minutes ago, has yet to take the oath.

"I, Barrack Hussein Obama, do solemnly swear…"

"On this day, we gather because we have chosen hope over fear…" – Obama

"America is a friend of each nation" – Obama

"We are a nation of Christians and Muslims, Jews and Hindus, and non believers" – Obama

"The World has changed, and we must change with it" – Obama

Praise song for the day this horrible inauguration poem ends.

Explaining that Bush did not get ‘kicked out’ of the White House but that his lease simply expired.

Obama cruzin the parade route on his new caddy.

There seem to be half as much security officers as civilians, police two feet apart, two set of barricades, two SUVs full of SS agents.

Secret Service don’t do a good job at keeping secret, those along the parade route will have more pictures of SS agents than Obama.

Obama is in the house!! I am thinking of a new sitcom ‘Fresh Politician of Capitol Hill.’

Security along the parade is colder than the weather, sparse crowds reported.

I, for one, welcome our new democrat overlords.

Prez Obama making short appearances at gala events. Mrs Obama wearing Jason Wu. Prez Obama dances like a white guy.

Prez Obama gave historic inauguration speech, Wall Street responded by losing 332 points, going below 8000.

Christopher Bridges, better known by his stooge name Ludacris, has recorded and released a song in support of Obama. The song is entitled ‘Politics: Obama Is Here.’ In song Ludacris states that the world is ready for change because Obamam is here, but the first thing he asks of Obama is special pardon from jail, and the VP office. This is not change, this is just like all other administrations. The supporters of the the President are just it to wit it.

The only change Obama wants, is to change his current address to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Obama will not be the first black president. It was said that Bill Clinton was the first black president. If Obama gets elected to president, Bill Clinton will still continue to be the only black president. Obama will be the first president to make everybody think he is black, his politricks are very whity.
